I'm wondering if anybody hates it as much as I do. It's always nerve-wracking for me, wondering what the boss is going to say. Is he going to say great things and make me feel good, or is he going to be nasty and piss me off? Yeah, I know I probably am a little sensitive about this, but I have had some bosses who were real ass wipes and have said things to me that really made me angry. So angry that I wanted to reach over the desk and choke them (but of course, I didn't, but I sure was tempted). Does anybody else feel this way, or is it just me?

I love it. It's truth time and if you've made yourself invaluable, one doesn't care about the truth.

Or maybe that's just me

Oh yeah, I hate that. All the stuff with the reviewing... of the job... about the working and stuff... in the job... nightmare!

I hate writing reviews. Luckily this year I only had to do 4 of them. I once had to write about 20.

i had this one job where i loved getting reviewed because it was all about building you up to be a better worker.

then i had this other job and...well...that's another story..

Actually, the only experience I've had of this was writing reviews, and by reviews I mean school report cards. I was pretty harsh on my P1 6 year olds and I'm pretty sure my Thai assistant completely rewrote my comments when she translated them.

I don't hate it so much lately becuase my boss things I'm a much better worker than I am.

I hear ya! I think a lot of it has to do with your boss' personality. Some are easy going, and others are uptight and just want to critcize everything, it seems.

like wtf? i'm too busy trying not to cuss out fools to be bothered with smiling?

really though, it was a job that i should have just quit.

It's funny you should say that, because at my current job, I had to review myself. It's the hardest thing to do, especially when you have been at your job for less than a year.

It's ridiculous that your boss would give you low marks for not smiling enough. Seems to me he should be more concerned about the quality of your work and your ability to get along with people.

Well, I guess suggesting in my reports that there were some serious poor parenting issues that were crippling childrens' ability to behave and learn was never something that would be accepted by the school. Wouldn't want to upset the negligent parents paying the high term fees. Let's just have the kids not learn anything!

at first i was kicking myself in the ass for reminding her, thinking that i was missing something...but then i felt pleasure watching her look like an ass for not being able to remember...

I have to justify why I should get a bonus have done for the last five years and I havent got one. before that I had one two yrs running.

HATE reviews.

We have weekly and bi-annual ones here. It's bad enough doing the job, let alone sitting back and navel gazing over your last week's work. I've done the job; I don't want to think about it.

If people are honest with themselves, they pretty much already know what is going to be said at review time. If you are doing a good job, you've probably already been told that all year long. If you are a phuck-up, you know that too. It won't come as a surprise.

What I meant is that I work for a mid sized company that I kick ass for. If they let me go they would need to hire at least 2 people to replace me, hence, invaluable.
