Lilacs

I absolutely love lilacs, they are so pretty to look at and they smell so nice. There is a lilac tree right by the door where I enter and exit at work. When I walk by the tree, I find myself inhaling a deep breath of air so that I can smell the lilac's beautiful scent.

Absolutely gorgeous!
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

If you cut lots of the flowers off, it'll make more grow the next year.
We used to live in an old house that had three old lilac trees. One dark purple, one light purple with double flowers and one blue. They all smelled divine but different. The blue was the best. The flowers are all I miss from that house.

Theres a lilac bush bout half a mile from my apt.

For the last 2 yrs now, ive been getting on the Vespa and going for a ride and stopping and stealing like hordes of them and putting them in my living room and bedroom.

If you cut them, make sure that you take a knife and scrape of the outer bark and bout half of the stem.

They will live longer.

Didn't know that cutting the flowers off a lilac tree will make it bloom even more the following year, that's pretty cool. I also didn't know that lilac trees could have double flowers on them, I would love to see that!

Driving to work today, I passed a front yard where there were lots of lilac trees, one of them was white. Soooo pretty, I wanted to jump out of my car and steal some of them. giggle I didn't though.

I don't blame you for stealing lilac flowers, they are pretty. Thanks for the tip about scraping off the outer bark, I appreciate it. Every time I get a lilac flower, even if it's put in water right away, it gets droopy by the next day.

Sure is! The cherry blossom trees are also really pretty, even though they don't have a scent.

A lilac blossom is one smell I can never get enough of. I even have a lilac scented candle in my house. While it's burning, my whole house smells like a lilac tree.

At my old high school there were lilacs growing in the yard next door. As soon as they'd bloomed the students would have them all picked. lol

Yes!

I have a recipe somewhere for dandelion wine, though I've never tried making it.

My mom planted snapdragons in her garden one year, they are very pretty! Another flower that comes in variety of colors. I also like hyacinths:

These also smell really pretty!
