The aquarium cages are good.

Put little cardboard boxes and strips of paperboard and whatnot in the cage. Makes it more of a pain in the ass to clean, but hamsters like to have stuff to chew up and climb into and use as nesting material. They are not modernists; they do not like clean lines and open spaces. They like cottony stuff too. . .you can spend money on hamster-specific fuzzy stuff at the petstore, but you can also take an old pillow or stuffed animal with cotton or poly filling and toss some of that in there. . . they love it.
