Do soul mates really ever lose each other? .
Considering they will never forget about each other, often thinking of each other, something about them still keeps as one. Do you believe there is such a person as a "soul mate"?

I believe in soul mates, but I think a person can have more than one.
I ran into one of mine at a funeral last year and it was like time stood still. We saw each other across the room and I was in his arms before we knew what happened, laughing and crying. It was lke being home again. We're both fairly happy with our lives as they are, but it's a really nice knowing that we still care deeply about each other dispite time and distance. Ex-Moderator | It depends on your definition of 'soulmate'... |

Yes I do think there is such things as soulmates. Wheather humans are aware enough to actually recognize this is another matter. Humans tend to deny what feels spirtually right and focus on what would be logical. That way you could end up denying the true connection and never really developing a relationship with your soulmate.

I think there is only one soulmate and sometimes they don't meet...
Sometimes life, circumstances, make you believe there nothing like soulmates, of course you can live, get married, love, and miss your soulmate. At least for this life. I think I do have one spiritual twin somewhere. And he's missing me the same way I miss him, even if his life, my life, seem to be perfect the way it is. If we are true soulmates, if reincarnation exist, if karma exist, one life not being together is nothing. Time for human being and time for soul are not the same. But only god knows...

Actually, I agree with you on this one. Not to say I don't believe in love or romance (cause I most certainly do) but the notion of 'soulmates' just doesn't make sense to me. |

If there is such a thing...then no, they don't. Soul mates are about connection, not emotion.

To me soulmates feel like a framiliarity...I don't know if reencarnation is possible but if it is if feels like you met them before. And an understanding and acceptance. Just liking that person for who they are and feeling really "High" around them. [Edited 4/11/06 9:31am]

[Edited 4/11/06 9:31am] Familiarity is a good way to describe it... For me, it would be feeling more at peace while alone with them...like if I could imagine the most peaceful moments I experience right now, it would be while alone, surrounded by nature, and my camera with me. If anyone else were to be with me during those moments, I wouldn't feel as peaceful or serene. A soulmate, to me, would be someone who could be with me during those moments, and I would feel even more at peace and serene...it's like they belong there with me. [Edited 4/11/06 9:36am]

But being around someone who just makes you feel so good and right would be more of a soulmate.

I don't remember whether it was Plato or Aristotle who said that a soul is split in half before birth, and then once born we spend our lives searching for the lost half. Some theologists have echoed this theme, especially some Jewish Bible/Torah scholars..(perhaps even Kabbalahists). I believe it. I believe there's someone out there for each of us with whom we fit like a torn piece of paper. There are alot of close misses...and some of us are fortunate to meet the other half. I have

Once you've met a soul mate then you never really lose each other. Time, distance and other people are not obstacles to the oneness.
True friendships are the same way. You might not see each other for years but you can pick up the thread again in an instant. Just like there was never a separation. True love crosses all barriers.
