Are there any men who truly feel that sex is not an important part of a relationship?

Many women have convinced themselves that sex isn't a primary need in a relationship. Personally I believe love is very important in a relationship, the most important aspect actually.

But sex is very much a part of what makes being together so amazing. If you're not having sex, that's called friends. Whenever the importance of sex comes up, women crawl out of the woodwork to tell why it's not the most important thing in a relationship and I say to that, if it's not important would you care that your partner was screwing someone else? No, you're not down for that. So it is important.

Are there any men who truly agree that sex isn't that important in a relationship?

i was out with some mutual friends the other night --- and the guy i got stuck with ... at the bar .... he was telling me ... how he liked to watch and hear the stories of his wife and her (sorry didnt know how else to say that ) .... he went out and cheated ... she went out and cheated - and i kinda knew that ... but i didnt realize they both came back and told each other ... so i was kinda eek

at the end of the story- he said ... hell , there is more to a marriage than sex .... neutral eek

uhm ... ok .....

after all of the above .... i agree with ya supa ... wink

I would never say sex is not important. I might say it's not the most important. But it's for sure important.

Mm. . . I agree that it's important, at least for me. But. Let me play devil's advocate.

There can be fire/romance without/before sex. And that's different than just friends. So. . . I can imagine a relationship that went beyond friendship without the sex. I just can't imagine that being sustained for very long without sex.

Amen...

and honestly, maybe this belongs on the confession thread but, when ever I have had sexual problems in a relationship it's been my fault. Either I've been emotionally disconected from my partner or under stress from work, or sick and run down. Sure some partners are better than others but I think mostly sex is about the emotion you feel with and towards your partner, so yeah...it kinda is the most important thing.

But you can't come out and say "Many women don't think sex is important" and not expect a few of us to refute that. lol

I don't think it should be as important as everyone make it out to be. It's not that important with the relationship I have with my partner going on 6 years. It never was.

I heard once that women use sex for love, and men use love for sex.

It's the intimacy that's important in a relationship moreso than the sex...but when the intimacy is based on something real and sincere, it usually leads to constant lovemaking anyway.

That's the same as saying men can't/don't feel love. I don't buy that for a second.

falloff touche

But how many times do you see women making excuses for why they are only fucking their partner every couple months or worse, even longer. They are always saying, and chiding men, that sex isn't the most important thing in a relationship. sorry, but I need to get my groove on more than 6 times a year. confused

I'm not disagreeing with you. Quite the contrary. But what does one do when it's NOT an important part of the relationship?

I'm an out gay man who just celebrated my 10th year of marriage to a woman. lol I'm here to tell ya, bruh, the primacy of sex in a relationship depends solely on the particular parties involved.

In my own situation, intimacy -- which is really what good sex is about, anyway -- is something honed in all aspects of the relationship. Moreso, in fact, outside the bedroom than in. I've come to find that's WAY more important.

That's not to say physicality has no importance. Everyone needs to get lost in that haze once in awhile. It's one of God's greatest gifts... But even then, the connection is highest when it hinges on something spiritual rather than strictly carnal. I would never recommend learning that lesson the way my wife and I did; but, in retrospect, it's one of the greatest things we've discovered together.

if i'm with a person i love i am totally happy just to be with them hanging out, kissing, hugging etc..if for some reason they could never have sex i would be cool with that..for me kissing is more erotic than sex
