Cinque Terra in Italy - 5 villages on the West coast, with a walking path between them. Absolutely beautiful, and not yet overly-commercial (at least when I went in 2000).

biggrin Someone mentions my hometown woot!
Of the cities I'd say London and Brussels, otherwise South Africa, Portugal and Italy, but it's hard to choose, I also really liked New York or Bern (Switzerland)!

Wow, lots of you have gone overseas, which is awesome. Never been overseas, but one day I will get there.

My favorite place of all is Siesta Key (or Crescent Beach), Florida. Contrary to popular belief, it is not in the Florida Keys, as everyone seems to think. Siesta Key is actually near Sarasota, Florida. Siesta Key beach was named one of the top 10 beaches in the country a few years ago. It is a gorgeous beach that has pure white sand that never gets hot, even when the temperature gets hot. I haven't been to Siesta Key in a few years, and I miss it. I gotta get back there one of these days; I absolutely heart it!

RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I have so many favorites!

The UK (all of it that I've been to), Florence, Amsterdam, San Francisco & New Orleans are probably at the top.

I've been to a fair few places over the years. I love the south of France. The Bay of Islands in NZ was perfect for me at a time when I needed to take some time out and be introspective. Of course, I love Thailand too, and would have to go with the quiet side of Koh Phangan - beaches and warm water feet from your door, great food, interesting company, and a perfect place to rent a moped and scoot around the little villages on the dirt tracks.

Ottensen

Narrowing it down to one is TOO difficult...although my faves for the moment are:

Amalfi Coast, Italy

Lake Como, Italy (right at the foothills of the Alps with vineyards and sheep)

Anguilla, Carribbean (the Cuisinart Resort is my abode of choice)

Grand Canaria, Canary Islands (anywhere in the hilly parts away from crowds)

Montreux, Switzerland

Islamorada, Florida Keys, FL (specifically The Moorings Village Resort)

Naples, FL (at any small, unobtrusive little inn I can find, near the beach with bicycles for rent cool )
