It's funny to me how 'chinese food' is so different from region to region in the US and its different in other countries. The 2 times I've had chinese food in England, I didn't like it at all. But I eat it all the time here. |

Hot & Sour Soup! Also, Sesame Chicken, Shrimp Mei Fun, Shrimp Egg Foo Young (I've actually taught myself how to make the last two so I don't have to order it so much. I can make the soup, as well, but it's easier just to buy a quart) b) are you sensitive to msg? no c) do you like chinese take out when it's been in the fridge and it's late at night? (maybe that only works with pizza) Not cold, it must be re-heated d) what appetizers do you like ? spring rolls, fried dumplings, crab rangoon e) do you prefer take out, or eating at a restaurant?.. Both works fine for me... f) Chopsticks, or fork? usually fork... g) what do you like to drink with the chinese food? unsweetened iced tea

Fried Rice, Chow-Mune, appitisers. PurpleRein said: b) are you sensitive to msg?
Yes PurpleRein said: c) do you like chinese take out when it's been in the fridge and it's late at night? (maybe that only works with pizza)
If the left overs last that long, they make a great snack. I eat up on the chinese take out till its gone from the fridge. This is one of the reasons I don't take home leftovers. PurpleRein said: d) what appetizers do you like (no Imago references here)..scallion pancakes..spring rolls..egg rolls...shrimp toast...?
egg rolls#1 and then chicken fingers, stuffed wontons, pork ribs, beef on a stick. PurpleRein said: e) do you prefer take out, or eating at a restaurant?..
Mostly I eat out. My wife and I eat out alot. Sometimes I take my 70s mom or her parents out for chineese. Anyway, like I said, it's bad for me to take leftovers home. PurpleRein said: f) Chopsticks, or fork? Chopsticks.

Diet Coke, it has the carbonation I require to taste the food a second time. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

I've never had real Chinese food, but I love the version we get in North America. I'm sure the real thing is pretty damn tasty too.
I have to be really selective about where I get my Chinese food though, because MSG is hell. I get headaches, extremely thirsty, and develop one mean, bitchy mood. Of all the places in my city, I've only found two that can guaranatee no MSG. I don't use chopsticks or a fork, I tend to eat with my hands. I like tea with my Chinese food. I'm not fussy, whatever's available is good. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

OK, I don't understand what you folks mean by "real" Chinese food. Are you talking about raveling to China? |

OK, I don't understand what you folks mean by "real" Chinese food. Are you talking about raveling to China? I worked in a Chinese restuarant for like 5 years (age of 15 to 20). It was one of the most stressful but fun jobs I've ever had in my life. At the end of each night the chefs would make a large meal for all the employes (and at the beginning of the shifts as well). That was when we ate the "Real" Chinese food. More flavorful, lacking all the breading and blandness that is so prevelent on the regular menus. Imagine yellow rice spicy enough to burn your tongue, wings in a tangy soy suace mixture, slow cooked soup in a parsley and chicken broth with dumplings and chinese cabbage, and curry that actually has a kick. Asians Represent! Oh, by the way, my balls are itching something fierce right now.

Asians Represent! OK, but see, we have GOOD chinese restaurants here. Actually, we have better vietnamese restaurants in my opinion (many more immigrants from there here...), but I've had bad chinese food and I know what that's like. I won't eat at a mall fast food chinese place any sooner than I'd eat at burger king. bleh. |

I've heard it said, in fact, that if you took a person from China and brought them over to the Oriental Palace Buffet & Bar, they wouldn't be able to recognize the food.
