anybody familiar with san fran neighborhoods?

i'm in chicago but i have some appointments to check out spots during the last week of april/first week of may. i'm familiar with cow hollow, the presidio, marina, fisherman's wharf, nob hill, soma, the castro, the mission, richmond, russian hill, the haight,...quite a few actually. one of my appointments is for a place in western addition. i don't remember this area from when i was visiting the city in september. should i be wary or is it a cool area? i'm guessing from rents in the area it has sketchy areas as well as decent spots. any advice from those in the bay area would be helpful!

thanks!

.

Spats

I have always wanted to go to San Francisco. It's looks like a great city. I need a change of scenery. I am sick of Toronto. Went to Florida a couple months ago but it was not enough. it was so boring.

it's ok. sketchy area normally are in patches of a block or 2. There is a couple of project apt nearby (which are unlike any in chicago) depending on where you go. But nothing to worry about.

Are you checking on moving out here?

Castro has some really fun shops and you HAVE to check out a restaurant/bar called Asia SF when you're there. Just google it, I'm too lazy. Sorry. biggrin

yeah, i am moving to san fran. going apartment hunting from 29 april - 4 may and hopefully moving in sometime, somewhere, in may (1 june is my deadline date).

i'm looking at a place called "the fillmore center" on, you guessed it, fillmore. its a huge property and runs a few blocks. other than that, i'm checking all the open houses that weekend and keeping an eye out for "rent" signs.

thanks for the help!
