An ODE to JerseyKRS pt2 Hard as iron, your soul still cuts itself on baby’s breath, Each time you long for something better, Than the mundane, tasteless white meat of life and death, Or some ambrosia just to forget her, A human touch, eyeliner framed peering eyes, Darkened corridors of smoky bars, A metal band, thunder in reprise, All smoothen out the scars, You know well the deeper meaning, A place to let your anger out, And taste of the bitter fruit, Nowhere nearly delicious as rainbow trout, You know well, the place you must go, The place that fills your dreams with dread, And kill the old lethargic effigy of someone resembling you, On a path your weaker self dares not tread.
