I need a bit of help

Does anyone have any good ideas for a present for an 11 year old. It is a bit more complicated then that though. It is my friend's son and he is being jointly adopted (not sure if that is how you would put it) by his "big brother mentor" and they are having a party to celebrate. I was hoping to get a gift certificate for something that they (the "father" and son) could do together, like paint ball or mini golf or something. but I dont know of any place like that in Minneapolis or if that even sounds like a good idea. please help.

My son just turned 11 this past weekend. He wanted a skateboard. But, we spoil him so he gets pretty much everything he wants. He digs his guitar, anything outside and video games.

Video games are usually my fall back. I might spoil him a bit myself. I buy him every game he asks for. well at least the ones his mom approves of. He plays the drums but he just got a new set. Do we have any skate-parks in MPLS?

Do you have a Dave and Buster's in Minne? A kid that age would love Dave and Buster's.....

My son Shawn just turned 10 back in February. We ended up getting him a beginner's digital camera. The fall back is usually games for his GameBoy DS, but we've also gotten him computer games. My idea this year was to get him Star Wars: Empire at War, but it was a bit too expensive since it had JUST been released the week prior. He's beaten the demo a bunch of times, though. I've been considering getting him into music, maybe starting out with a small stereo and some Beatles CDs (he's a fan of the Yellow Submarine movie). He's at that age where the Star Wars toys don't really appeal to him as much anymore (pout), but he still loves the movies.
