um... hope this question isn't too silly how long is it roughly supposed to take before pain relief gel starts working?

Normally within 15-20 minutes if it is something like Icy Hot or Ben Gay.

Pain relief gel/cream does nothing for me, except for Myoflex. It's been years since I've used it though. I always take Advil....extra strength. It works in about 20 minutes.

a long soak in a warm/hot tub with some epsom salt usually works better then any topo rub

essentail oils of lavender and rosemary mixed in emu oil works wonders too
