The first Ice Age was good, but I saw it after I watched Finding Nemo, so it's hard to compare a light hearted movie like that to Nemo.

But the first one is an overall better movie than the second. The second felt too much like a money making sequal.

There are some very funny scenes, but mostly, they are silly. And the tension in the movie that should be moving italong (getting away from the great meltdown) just doesn't get you. Also, the dailogue was awkward and the humor felt forced.

It's not a bad movie--but I just have this thing about sequals--I feel like why bother unless you have something of value to add, or if you ensure it's at least as good as the first.
