It's just a matter of sacrifice. Anyone can do it. I know you're a student now, so I would assume that means a limited income, but you just decide what you want to spend your money on. The first big trip to Europe I took, I saved for about a year and a half to make that happen. And we went budget all the way. I'm lucky in that it only took me a few months of scrimping and saving and not going out and bringing my lunch to work every day to make this last london trip work, but that's cause I make more money than I did then. But it's still just a matter of choosing what to spend your money on. |

i just turned 25 three months ago...so far, the only crazy thing i've done is get my nose pierced on my birthday. besides getting the occasional tattoo, i haven't done anything too spectacular. at this rate i'll probably end up doing all the wacked out boo-koo chit when i hit 30.

25 had to be the worst year of my life. If I were going to base my suggestions on personal experience, I'd say: sleep through it. Seattle Org Invasion July 28th-30th http://www.prince.org/msg/2/177514

I know what you mean, but I have to do all that scrimping and saving just to live right now, and by live I mean eat and pay bills... Its not that I spend money on other things that could be saved, but I just dont have it! Ill be working full time in the summer so Im going to save everything then but term time, no way

Oh God, same thing here. Absolutely the worst. Aside from the specifics of my own troubles, I just think the twenties can be a really rough time, especially starting right around 25. Many of us were told growing up that we could do/be anything, and we arrive at adulthood expecting something to. . . happen. And it. . . doesn't. And you have to figure it out. . . alone. And I think this generation of twentysomethings is facing an interesting cultural shift, and a heap of financial troubles. It totally sucks. I'm 26. I feel less certain of any/everything every day. But 26 has been better than 25 so far, so hopefully the trajectory is right. Seattle Org Invasion July 28th-30th http://www.prince.org/msg/2/177514

Yeah, if I had to repeat 25, I'd just go ahead and stockpile the meds up-front. There'd be time for rehab later. Seattle Org Invasion July 28th-30th http://www.prince.org/msg/2/177514

I have high hopes for this year (Ive only been 22 for a week) because last year was so sucky. It was definitely my worst year, but saying that a couple of really good things happened, and I can see exactly why the bad stuff had to happen because Ive learned from it. So I dunno. im sure itll get worse sometime...but its ok for now

oddly enough, i haven't had anything of that sort happen to me just yet; the worst blows i've dealt with in my life thus far all happened when i was just a kid. i feel that whatever else bad that may happen will never be as bad as what i dealt with when i was younger...it's toughened me up a lot, so to speak. I'm the same, Im not really scared of what could happen as I know I can deal with it. Whereas I watch my friends, who havent had to deal with anything and just think, you've got no chance.

I always used to hear about how people who enter the workforce rarely return to school. And I was always, aww what's the big change? Why nat? But now that I've been working for like 3 years, I can't imagine having my evenings full of homework, and living on a student budget!

Well, not everything. Just the pretty ones. These lyrics are from a song for you, "For The Young Sophisticate" by Frank Zappa: There was a picture on the story That showed a young sophisticator Who falls in love three pages later With some aggressive agitator And by and by he comes to hate her 'Cause she don't shave her underarms And he can't go for that 'Cause he's a young sophisticator . I intend to own property outright by the end of 2006. Aside from that, I'll probably sit around in my room a lot drinking tea and nothing-ing my life away. But you're married, which I admire. Anybody can get married.

Your 20's are your prime years. Have as much fun as possible. When i was 25 i was having fun and doing my pretty ex girlfriend.
Ooh,I got good advice too! Don't listen to ANYONE telling you what to do or not to do. We are not all the same and what applies to one, might not apply to another. DON'T let anyone tell you this or that is better cuz you know what; find out for yourself what you like or don't! BTW< my 20's sucked and I like my 30's WAY better. If you are going to follow some advice, here's one to consider; never dwell to long on what has been, but make sure you live life to it's fullest.

As for me, I am 27 and don't have a job, but I am working towards my AMus degree in music performance, which will enable me to become a teacher and pro. musician with any luck and hard work. I am about to get married later this year, but other than that I don't think I've achieved a great deal due to an illness I acquired in my early twenties. I only like some women. I would never be able to post a tribute to the entire female gender like some other people. It would be innaccurate. I would say the same about men, except I would not rule out knowing a guy just cause he was ugly.

I have many ugly men friends! a couple of them are such nice people I would go out with them if I wasn't married, and I know they are nice because they have been my friends many years. Anyway, what is ugly? I can't even think of anyone that is hideously or repulsively ugly - most folks look just fine.
