The mistake was to make sequels!

I hate when they ruin good stories with sequels.

you know, i thought both sequels to the original movie were pretty bad
but the last one was just horrible.

i've seen it twice (forcibly the second time) and still i can't even,
for the life of me, remember that he died in the movie

Um. His name is Neo. He's "THE ONE". The second coming of the savior of the natural world. He is otherworldly power incarnate. He works entirely on faith that he is not limited by his surroundings. At the end, a rag is tied around his head, spikes enter his hands and feet and a cross of light bursts from his chest as he sacrifices himself for the world. If you didn't see that coming, you need to skip this Easter's egg hunt and go to church. Or call Mel Gibson.

Sorry, playa. Still, it's given away in the first film. The Oracle says he has to enter the Matrix and save everyone.

Great fight scene at the end with agent smith. I got goosebumps in leading up to it!! How keanu Reeves was walking in slow motion and the music beat was going to the sound of his feet and agent smith walks out in slow motion and turn slowly and then they both run up to each other in slow motion and the choir scarey movie music in the background. That was brilliant!!!

Did i spoil it even more for some of you!!!

The only thing worse than The Matrix: Reloadofcrap was The Matrix: Revulsions. Those movies so sucked, and I really wanted to love them. The first is truly a sci-fi classic, but the second and third are convoluted messes.

No, this one is gonna be dope. Really. The villain now is Davy Jones, the spirit of the briny deep. Yargh.

He looks just like this in the movie.

Plus Keith Richards plays Jack's dad. So yeah, I'm goin.

Plus, Naomie Harris (who I've wanted since 28 Days Later) is in this one and the third.

He's back, according to imdb. What do you mean? He was a zombie for years and years. Jack ended his curse and killed him, yes, but if such a thing is possible a first time, what's to say he won't cross the divide again?

I personally thought it was boring, and quite overdone. The third was also riddled with plot holes big enough to drive a mack truck through, and it did little to resolve the dangling plot threads of the second film.

Speaking of that and though it pains me to admit, The Libertine, which just opened here in the US, is getting terrible reviews.

I usually don't put a lot of stock in movie critics, but the bad reviews this time are just SO harsh and a lot of 'regular' moviegoers that I've read review the film or discuss it are less then impressed by it, as well, so I'm a leeettle bit worrried this one truly is going to stink.

I'll be reserving my judgement until I see it myself though. smile

Well, to each their own but personally I don't think it looks stupid. I think the life story of John Wilmot sounds very intriguing, in a perverse, train-wreck sort of way. Are you familiar with the poet John Wilmot?

From what I've read, The Libertine's flaws lie in poor direction, and its pacing and belabored dialogue and a few other things...not the subject matter (other than that John Wilmot was a pig and a jerk, and very unlikable)
