Furniture Shopping...

Do you like it or loathe it? Not much of a shopper myself, but my furniture is 17 years old and is ready for the junk pile. lol One of my rocking chairs broke when I was sitting in it a few weeks ago (doh!! lol) so it's off to the stores for me to find two new rocking chairs and a sofa as well. After 17 years, I would say that I got my money's worth on them, since they're ripped and stained anyway. ill
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

falloff about the stains on my couch. Don't worry it's not what you might think. lol Mostly food and soda stains. Wish you could go with me too, it's nice to get another person's opinion on furniture. Probably will take my mom with me, since when I went shopping on my own a few weeks back, I couldn't find anything I liked.
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Me and my mates use to go into furniture shops, sit on them, then some pouncy guy would come over and politely ask us to leave. Then we would "act" by saying goofy stuff like "you got any pearl white, oak chairs by any chance" or whatever dumb crap we could think of. We would haunt the same shops for a while every saturday. We got banned from all of them in the city eventually. And we even made one guy cry after we left.

We saw him crying.

Why does it seem that some really ifeminate sorta guys work in furniture shops? "excuse me, but could u please leave this store". "why dont u just leave us alone, we ain't bothering u!"

We thought we were so cool back then. But we showed 'em. The guy who cried, would always get into a big strop every week. Sometimes, he would walk out the back and get his mananger (who was a women) to ask us to leave. I miss that dude.

"iam not dealing with u hooligans today". Pftt, fine.

nod Agreed! I'm trying to find a light colored print couch, and all the print couches that are around are either floral or early American (like something you would see at your grandmother's house). If they're not floral or early American, they're very dark colored (black, brown, or red), which does not match my decor at all. lol

I love the smell of leather, not to mention that it's so comfy. You sit on a piece of leather furniture, and you just sink into it; it's soo comfy. cloud9

I just bought a leather reclining couch.

It was fun and stressful at the same time.

Couches are misleading, they seem all nice and sturdy and comfy in the store. Then you get them home and like 2 months later, the padding is all flat, and the fabric is all streched out and distorted. Some seem to hold their shape better than others, and I can never tell which ones are the right kind to buy.

I love going with/for others but, not for myself. I get a vision of what I want and I have to have it! When I start looking, nothing ever matches up to what I want. Or sometimes its's insanely expensive so I have to change something in my Grand Plan.

Have fun!

I don't do it very often...(we ain't got it like THAT)...but I do need to
buy a coffee table. I'm embarrassed to say that we've been using a large
cooler in it's place for years now. no no no!

I'm looking for a large one with plenty of storage underneath.

Recently we spent almost $2000 on a sectional couch w/ two pullout
recliners and a pull out bed.
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.
