Lost 2/15

'One Of Them' episode 14, aired in US on 2/15

Downloaded it last night.....it must say it was rather disappointing, it just keeps going on. They catch this guy who appears to be one of the 'Others' and then they do nothing with him.....too much flashback on Sayid's war-experience.....we already knew he was a bad-ass torturer in the Gulf war.....

This episode really didn't bring much to the story, it felt like another delay of execution.....a filler.

What do you think?

BTW, any episode without Kate's character in it is a 'Lost' opportunity..... neutral lol

I agree they're just talking about things that doesn't matter...their stories are pointless.

Well they had Kate's Picture in it. I too felt that the episode was rather thin, except for the last 10 minutes. That was messed up. Did you hear something mechanical start up when the hieroglyphs appeared? Apparently they spell out Cause to die.

I didn't think the episode was bad, though. It's just that the audience wants something the writers aren't giving. I don't need anymore backstory.

Next weeks looks a lot more promising...and should make up for these last two.

I guess someone did their homework. We don't know what would have really happened as all of the numbers did not "set". It is thought something might have happened had all the characters settled. Personally, I don't think they are there for no reason..I do think that Exectuing those numers stops or starts something...something.

And the writers are giving them a run for their money too. Who would have thought of such things? And BTW a regular audience would never go out and research all there is to research. You have no idea how in depth this show is like with Names of people have much more relevence if you look further. Or all the books that people read or find...every last one of them has some sort of theme in Lost.

nod...In one episode, Hurley is going thru the books in the hatch, and the first one they show him holding up is "Occurance At Owl Creek"...that jumped out at me immediately. hmmm

I don't think you need to be a "geek"..lol...you just have to be familiar with the story "Occurance At Owl Creek" to have it stand out to you. Well, that, and to already realize that the show is giving clues out like fucking mad all over the place...so assume there's a reason for pretty much everything.

By the way, in the first season, the number "666" was associated with Claire's baby in a subtle way... thumbs up!

Occurance At Owl Creek is a short story about a man during the American Civil War (I think) who is about to be hung by the Army for doing whatever it is he did (tried to blow up a bridge or something to aid the wrong side)...right as he's pushed off the side of the bridge to be hung, the piece of the bridge holding the other end of the rope breaks and he falls into the water. The rest of the story deals with him being pursued, shot at and chased and him almost being captured. His one and only goal is to make it back home to his wife, which he eventually does, running into her arms and apparently into safety...only to have his neck suddenly snap backwards and break right as he holds her, ending his life. It's at that point that you realize everything that has just happened took place in this guy's mind during the 5 seconds between being pushed off the side of the bridge and the noose breaking his neck and killing him.

The "666" was during the flashback scene, where Claire has taken the pregnancy test and her boyfriend is all nervous...she asks him how long has it been since she took it because the results take one minute...and her boyfriend looks at his watch and nervously says "Uh, six...66 seconds". I caught that while watching the subtitles...lol...

Behind "Turn of the Screw" was the orientation film.

Sawyer's books also come into play like Watership Down.

I agree. The episode was thin. It was Sayid's episode and they blew it! He is one of the most dynamic, interesting characters, and I was very much anticipating the episode but it gave the audience nothing. Where is the show going? The only "reveals" were the hieroglyphs, Kate's picture, and the sly look on Henry's face when Jack pulled Sayid out. Jack is pissing me off, by the way...

I also heard gears cranking when the timer ran out...pretty spooky. It makes me think of the hatch shutting its doors and blasting off or something!!! lol

And what was the deal with the tree frog? Wasted screen time...and why is Sawyer still sleeping in his usual tent...he's ostracized himself...shouldn't someone be interrogating/threatening him about the guns?? And no one's mentioned Michael or Walt. And Desmond needs to get his ass back, too. I guess maybe the frog was poisonous??? That's the only reason I can think of for it being in the show at all.

LOST is pissing me off. I'll still watch.
