that sounds fucking gorgeous!

Tony M. said he can't wait to eat it once it comes out the other end.

It will probably taste exactly the same.

btw, i saw tony m. a couple days ago...he was huddled inside one of those bus shelters with the heat lamps, and he wouldn't let nobody else go inside. he'd growl at 'em and stuff.

mmmm. I had Lasagne last night, and a curried thing with dal the day before.

Tonight, Im going straight for the comfort food zone, though:

Roasted Sausages with Apples, Cabbage, and Caraway (I don't know why but between living in Germany and being from the midwest I wanted some old skool grand-maw type of food today)....

cool

This sounds AMAZING. Is this your own creation, or is there a special link to find the recipe?

it started as a recipe in a book for basic risotto, but here's what I do:
brown the chicken pieces (any kind you want) in a bit of oil in a large deep fry pan - I usually dip it in seasoned corn flour first.
throw in a chopped onion, sliced mushrooms and cook over low flame for a couple of minutes
put in 2 cups arborio rice and stir around
pour in 1 litre of chicken or vegie stock and stir
chop up half a smallish butternut pumpkin and toss in a little olive oil and spread on a baking tray on some baking paper, put in oven 200°C until it is soft but not overly so.
when rice is soft (takes about 1/2 hour over lowest flame with lid on stirring occasionally), stir in 1/2 cup grated parmesan and pumpkin pieces. Serve straight away, goes a bit gluggy if left to sit too long. You can add butter too if you need, and season to taste with cracked pepper.

It was like all other strange dishes; difficult to say anything about after the first taste other than that "it tastes unusual". It wasn't bad necessarily. But I think I'm going to pee red tonight. confused

I love risotto! If it's properly made, that is. Some just boil rice and put something in it, while proper risotto is supposed to have slightly undercooked grains in a moist "sauce". Don't ask me how to make it though...

By the way, risotto with Danish feta and walnuts sounds like something a vegetarian who's tried everything else already would make (that doesn't mean it sounds bad though). Are you veg?

no! I eat kangaroo! drooling
See my chicken, mushroom and pumpkin risotto recipe further above - I can make it really well nod
for some reason, beetroot, feta and walnuts go prefectly together, you can throw in rocket or spinach leaves at the end and season with salt and cracked pepper. The beetroot is roasted in the oven, not from a can btw!

Thanks! I hope you don't make promises you don't intend to keep! wink

It's been so long since I've been to Australia. Now that I'm going to be in Japan for a year I was thinking I might pop over to Malaysia or Korea if I can afford it. How much would a ticket to Aussieland cost, do you think?

omfg That's more than it costs to go from Stockholm to Tokyo! The distance from Tokyo to Sydney must be much, much shorter, right? You're right, there has to be a better price out there. I'll check it out later.
