There's something in the air in Hollywood
The sun is shinin' like you knew it would
You're ridin' in your car in Hollywood
You got the top down and it feels so good

Everybody comes to Hollywood
They wanna make it in the neighborhood
They like the smell of it in Hollywood
How could it hurt you when it looks so good

I lost my memory in Hollywood
I've had a million visions, bad and good
There's something in the air in Hollywood
I tried to leave it but I never could

I'm pretty sure you can't be bothered with the details. Just remember this country has three official languages: French, Dutch and German.

My first language is Dutch, basically the same as the language spoken in the Netherlands. It's also called Flemish, but that's not really correct.

If i could move out of this town i would. I can't. The city is getting worse and worse. The crime rate is getting higher and higher. The city is dirtier than it's ever been. The city is boring. And don't even get me started on the women....

To be honest with you Staps, I have to agree with some of what you said. The city is dirtier than ever because the low-lifes don't know what it means to keep a city clean. Some people don't know what a garbage can is either. They just toss their trash anywhere they like. Yes, the crime is through the roof and worse than ever. It sickened me to hear about the young woman shot to death in her car a couple of weeks ago. Apparently, the bullets were meant for her passenger who was her boyfriend. This kind of behavior just sickens me. The piece of shit that killed her should be dead too as far as I'm concerned.

I don't think the city is boring though. There is a ton of things to do at any given time. We have fantastic restaurants and clubs too. I'm not sure what you mean about the women, but I see many attractive women in this city everyday.

Toronto the good?? I'm not so sure about that anymore, but it's still a pretty good city considering.

Camille, you are female. So i think we are going have different opinions on female attractiveness. I have been out with female friends and they have pointed out different women they think i should approach because in their opinion they are goodlooking. In my opinion they were not and not my type. I think men and women have different views on what a good looking woman is.

Yep, you're right Spats we do have different opinions on what is considered attractive. I know this sounds corny and old fashioned, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it's what's in a persons' heart that really matters.

I hope you find someone soon that you are attracted to.

that works. why the rolleyes?

Because it seems arrogant to assume that everybody knows where my city is located. Stockholm just happens to be a capital which makes it easier, but what if it had been Uppsala? The location of, say, Boston or Portland might be as unobvious to me as the location of Uppsala is to you and yet the Bostonians and Portlandites (or whatever they're called) often just say "Boston" and "Portland" when asked where they're from.

If I ask you where you're from in an international forum like this one, then tell me the country for starters, then the city and/or the full name of the state or the region or province if you want to be specific. It just makes sense, IMO. shrug

The important distinction is the difference between Uppsala and Stockholm. When it is a major city that is commonly known, I don't think it's necessary to tell people. At worst, it's presumptuous to assume people know, but I don't think there is any intended arrogance.

On the other hand, I do live in Hollywood, which does happen to be the center of the universe. smile

Define "commonly known". Known to whom? To Americans? To Japanese? To Norweigans? On an international website you're dealing with so many nationalities that I think it's arrogant to assume that people know which country your city is located in. And it is mostly Americans that display that type of arrogance, intended or not.
