A television license?
It's a license you have to pay if you own a television. It pays towards the BBC. If you don't pay it, you're fined a stupid amount of money and could get thrown in jail! It's about £100 ($150) a year, I think. I'm unsure. I'd be prepared to pay double for the BBC though. I believe in it's principles deeply. | |

we just pay taxes here  for our national public broadcaster...
