Close to the top 10

Rosemary's baby
Halloween
Psycho
Alien
Jaws
A Nightmare on Elm Street
Carrie
Diaboliques, Les
Nosferatu
Repulsion
Freaks (1932)
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)
Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer

Great ones that were made for TV

Salem's Lot (1979)
Trilogy of Terror (1975) Just for the last story about the African tribal doll or Zuni fetish doll. That made the whole movie.

good list.

I could no way put them in any kind of order but i love these movies,

The Thing (the effects are still convincing today.)
The Exorcist 3 (dont let the title put u off William Peter Blatty who wrote the original directed this and wanted to name it something else.It was studio execs and producers that made him call it that,it probably has one of the scariest moments in cinematic history) eek
Nightmare elm St 1 and 3 dream Warriors. (the rest were all crap)
An American Werefolf in London
The Company of Wolves (nightmarishly beautiful)
The WickerMan ( eek )
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!
woot!

Friday the 13th (5)
Scream (8)
The Birds (9)
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I found Aura's poetry particularly disturbing, and that bridge she lived under was like something out of Dantes Inferno disbelief

Imagine this. An young "me" forcing my friends to watch the movie with me telling them it was going to be "hot!".

About 20 minutes into the movie, I knew I was going to get my ass beat--talk about scary. lol

One of those movies you wish you'd watched alone cowering behind the sofa and clutching a crucifix.

lmao!

I'd go with "The Shining". I haven't watched it all the way through to this day, Jack scares the sh*t out of me in this one. And his damn wife in that movie, too.

I don't watch much horror, but I would also say yes to The Shining. That film is a masterpiece.
