Ok so...the Science Question of the day is....... So we were talking at lunch today about supernatural stuff, and my colleague was saying that when he was in Australia, in the desert, he was told that the only way that they (whoever they are), could find water was with one of those twig/y-shaped sticks that points towards water underground.
i said,"well that's crazy! surely there's some kind of sonar that can detect water underground". he insisted that was untrue and no such device existed. So! does anyone know of such a device?

n : forked stick that is said to dip down to indicate underground water or oil [syn: divining rod, dowser, waterfinder, water finder] Don't tell GeorgeW that! If there were a rod that found gold and jewels, I'd have it! I'd call it a Bling Rod! Socks still got butt like a leather seat...
