I've got a BA in Philosophy from the University of Washington.

Next fall I'm going to start premed classes, and hopefully in a couple of years I'll be studying for my MD at UW. nod I'm excited, but the idea of being a full-time student again is daunting. I've decided not to try to work during this process, which will be a first for me, and the idea of living off of loans makes me sick to my stomach. But I think it's the best decision in the long run, and my loved ones are backing me up on this.

Oh my God. That is really incredible. I wish you the best on your endeavour. And here I am bitching about trying to get my B.A.

Thank you, m'dear. hug

Hey, getting a BA was so freakin' hard that I'm only now going back for more after graduating in '03. It's a big deal, especially if you are a grownup whose parents aren't funding your entire life. So. . .keep bitching. lol

Now I'm a desk jockey making less than the schleps who flunked High School and work for the Sanitatoon Dept. across the street from my office!

Are you sure they flunked out of high school? I know a couple sanitation dept workers that have BAs confused A lot of people can't use their degrees for one reason or another.Or they've been downsized out of their jobs. sad

Yay art history! highfive

What was your concentration?
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

Associates of Arts in Graphic Design and just finishing paying that off after 10 years.

Currently working on Liberal Arts Associates Degree in Music Performance and paying for it as I go. Going to need more loans when I take the Liberal Arts degree to Wayne State University.

Where can I go to school for free? I've always heard an urban legend that after you've lived in California for a year, school is free. Anyone else ever heard of this?

BFA Communications Design (graphic design, mostly) at Pratt.

The only way I know of to go to college for free is to work a job at an art school. If you work at New School in NYC for example, you can get your degree on the side for free. smile
