i called my building management over the weekend, and i reported my situation to the post office this morning. fortunately, i have a delivery confirmation number for the most expensive package that was stolen. i realize i'll still probably never see it or recover the worth of the item, but if they catch the asshole or assholes involved, that'll be almost as good as getting my stuff.

A few times I ordered things from companies that never arrived (i.e. were stolen by my asshole neighbors) and when I contacted the companies to tell them they sent replacement items -- at no charge -- to another address. Have you tried that?

one item was from a private seller via amazon.com, so i doubt the person can send another item. another package was a gift from an orger. the rest of the stuff, yeah, hopefully i can contact the companies and explain the situation.

i have a really strong feeling my neighbor is the culprit, and that i've probably helped fund yet another boystown meth habit. since they moved in, a lot of shady shit has gone on and in the nearly five years i lived in my building, i never had this problem before they arrived.

hug I'm sorry this is happening to you. I know how it can be. I had the same problem with two different neighbors. It's so infuriating. Have you paid for the orders already?

i had a neighbor complain about it to me in december, so i know i'm not alone. i called my building management over the weekend and left a message, and i'm going to follow up with them today. i called the post office this morning, and also filed a complaint with USPS online.

meanwhile, i'm gonna take Mazurack's advice and mock up a package to myself that has "handle with care" and "valuable" scrawled all over it, with a nice surprise waiting inside for my sticky-fingered friends. (i'm SO tempted to pull a "pink flamingos").

ha!

i'm not entirely sure that it's the postman who's at fault. i have very strong reason to believe my new neighbors are the ones at fault. but i'm not ruling anyone out!

Stealing mail is a federal crime..

Sucks when you have to change your mail delivery because of some stupidity..

Sorry, Anx.

i've decided to send myself a couple of pieces of 'decoy' mail for them to open, with a letter saying they have seven days to make things right by me or else i cooperate fully and press charges with a smile on my face to the fullest extent i am able. of course, watch these 'decoys' be the first mail i actually GET in a damn month. lol

9 out of 10 packages for me...go to my work. I used to have an apt building where it was hard to get a package...and it really sucked having to always go to the post office (it was actually really far from my house).

Now I can most likely get packages very easily at home and there's only like 4 apts so I trust my neighbors. I have really yet to do so.

Decoys that require a sig. Or a decoy with something really nasty in it.
