Coretta Scott King DEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ATLANTA - Coretta Scott King, who turned a life shattered by her husband's assassination into one devoted to enshrining his legacy of human rights and equality, has died, former mayor Andrew Young told NBC Tuesday morning. She was 78.

No problem! God Bless them both and I hope we can continue to do an ounce of what they did!

Bless her for carrying on with the message and legacy. she and Jackie O. both had that enormous burden of being "more" than the wife of a slain political icon. RIP [Edited 1/31/06 5:13am] you look better on your facebook page than you do in person

I hope that she's reunited with her husband wherever they are right now. playing Aretha Franklin 'Take My Hand, Precious Lord' [Edited 1/31/06 9:49am] I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at the dirt.

Maya Angelou was on Good Morning America talking about Mrs. King and what really got me is the way she said Mrs. King spoke of her husband. In all her speaking engagements and even in personal conversations her voice was always strong and calm. When the conversation moved to talking about her husband, her voice would soften and change. "Mar-tin", she would say, in an intimate sort of manner. Their love had power beyond the grave. She could have sank back into "quiet" life with her children as the widow of a great civil rights leader but she knew that this was a legacy that could not die. It was her children's future and the future of people around the world who suffer injustice. Her stand was never of politics, it was of peace. Now she can rest and rejoin her beloved husband.

.... may the Lord bless and keep her for all eternity.
This was the very first thing I herd this morning when I woke up. As sad as it is, at least she's at peace. Godspeed Coretta.
