Homosexuals I needs sum help

A group of my friends brought up the idea of going to Provincetown for a couple of weeks during the summer. I thought that I would hop on here and see if anyone was from the area or if anyone has spent the summer months there. One of my friends is dating a lawyer who has a summer timie share there and has offered it to us at no charge. I was thinking the first 2 weeks of June. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thnx

Well, it's a great haunt if you like club life, beaches (many of them nude), generally wealthy goldenboy types, sailing and a sort of overall hedonistic air (and I don't say that critically).

Cape Cod is generally very laid back, relaxing and family-friendly. P-town is party central. You may like the juxtaposition.

And Boston, about an hour away, is awesome.

no no no! Just make sure if you go up there, that you're very safe. It's great fun... but there's a lot of room to get yourself into trouble.

(Take that in a big brother/little brother spirit. I'm certainly not trying to lecture you.)

I know all about being safe...and I take that in the best brotherly advise. Its just that we have all just finished reading "The Men From The Boys" and we have this idea of what it would be like to spend a week in P-town. One of our older friends said that he and his lover had the most romantic / sextacular seasons there in the early 90's. We're just wondering what, if anything, has changed. And it would be nice to be in a very gay friendly place for vacation. smile

I have to agree a bit. lol

The Cape is like this really serene spread of terrain somewhere between earth and heaven -- spiralling seagulls, lighthouses, balmy weather or the ocassional lighting storm, whales off in the distance, sail boats, quaint New England cottages, spray roses everywhere and lovers in white, billowy clothing strolling barefoot and pensive along miles of warm, clean sand. And then P-Town is like an outpost of gay Bourbon Street plopped right in the middle of it! lol

...Lest I misrepresent myself, I should say: I do like P-Town for what it is: a fun, safe and well maintained oceanfront retreat for LGBTs and those who are OK hanging out with them. It just certainly is a novel place, with all aspects of "gay life" -- and it's not for everyone. smile

In the late 80's I spent three summers in Chatham with friends of my parents, partying, sailing, chilling.....I lost my virginity on a beach near harwich Port when I was 17 in '88.....the Cape will always be special to me!

i enjoyed a day-trip to provincetown...would have stayed the night, except we had left our things in hyannis.

i found provincetown rather homey. i'd have stayed at one of the predominantly gay b&bs, because the owners were terribly nice there...

Really nice or really mean -- we do everything well. wink

But you're right: There are very quaint aspects of all the Cape's towns, P-Town included. It's really comfortable and mellow up there. It's NOT some big gay orgy, and I stand corrected if I made it sound that way. lol

...It's just that some people might be somewhat taken aback by how freely all sectors of the LGBT community carry on there. I personally have less a problem with that than my other observation of the spot -- by most measures, it's getting a bit touristy and party-oriented, at least a bit moreso than the rest of the penninsula.

i guess there are places for all that you describe, and it's quite explicitly stated for tourists, really. so no one should end up where they ought'nt, if you know what i mean. lol
