A thread on the 'Music: Non Prince' forum reminded me of one of my childhood activities:


taping music from tv shows!


Back in the day, I'd sit there - in front of the tv - with a tape recorder and record my favourite theme tunes.


I remember having particular affection for:


~ Dogtanian & The Three Muskahounds ("one for all and all for one, Muskahounds are always ready...")

~ Ulysses 31 ("Ulyseee-eeee-eeees...")

~ Are You Being Served? ("Ground floor...")



What tunes did you tape off tv?

I remember taping the songs they would sing on Muppet Babies & I taped the theme song to Darkwing Duck

I loved that cartoon, and I specifically remember my Dad taping the end of it for the song! He said it was for me, a likely story!

I remember Muppet Babies too cant remember any others just now though...

My friend Eleanor once told me this story about how, when she was a kid, she used to tape all the latest hits off the radio. Her house walls were really thin - and the guy next door was quite sexy - so she used to blast them out, hoping he'd hear them and think 'Wow! That girl's got great taste!'.

Well, I've managed to get the time off work so - fingers crossed - I'll be able to come up. It depends on £££, really, but if I can come - definitely.
