I am an engaged man... Last Thursday I officially became engaged to be married to my longtime girlfriend Amy (RasberryWoman). We met at Paisley park in 2000ish so I guess it could be said that we are another couple brought together by Princey.
Look for a late August wedding This thread is getting long and this post got a little lost in my pictures of cats and such so I thought I would add it to this initial post. The story of how I proposed Me and Amy hunt every year for the St. Paul Winter Carnival medallion which they hide in a St. Paul park. The winner gets $10,000 and a bunch of other prizes. It's always a lot of fun deciphering the clues and getting out to the parks in the dead of winter. Anyway....this year the clues suggested that the medallion was hidden in a Nut Goody wrapper so I made a fake plastic medallion like the one we are looking for and attached the ring to it and put it inside a nut goody wrapper and then I ripped open a stuffed animal and put the fake medallion inside and then I sewed it back up. So when you felt the animal you could tell something was inside of it. They always hide the medallion wrapped in things so it was a pretty realistic fake. So we went out to Battle Creek Park in St. Paul Thursday night as we always do to search for the medallion. After we had been looking for about an hour I slipped the stuffed animal from my pocket and dropped it where I figured she would look next. After she ripped the animal open and saw the fake puck and ring attached to it she got a very confused look in her eyes until I asked her to marry me. I actually felt a little bad because she thought she had maybe found $10,000 but I could tell that she was probably happier with the ring Lord knows she has been waiting for a while. Interestingly enough the actual medallion was found very close to where I had thrown the fake medallion. Most people were still looking in a different park at that time so I was definately on to something. I actually snapped this picture on the way out of the park (balanced the cmaera on the hood of my car) with her showing off the new ring. It was real warm that night which is why my coat is unzipped and stuff. So here is our first picture as an engaged couple [Edited 1/30/06 15:28pm] [Edited 1/30/06 15:31pm]

I of course proposed via orgnote and used a real pretty ring emoticon so there wasn't any doubt she would say yes

Woo hoo!!! Congrats sexy!
We want to see pix of your wedding when it happens. How did you propose? Did she tear up? How did you meet. Were you both in line at Paisley Park? I love "how-we-met" stories. As for meeting....me and my friend noticed her dancing at a Paisley park party because we both thought she had a great ass. Anyway he talked to her a little that night and they started talking online or someplace but they didn't really hit it off. But through him I met her and we started talking at other Paisley parties until I finally asked her out.
We dated for like 6 months but it really wasn't that great for either of us and eventually I broke up with her. Like a year later we started talking on messenger and soon we started hanging out again. Soon we were a couple again and this time it was really great being with her. We both had grown up and changed a little I guess but for whatever reason it really works now. The last 3 1/2 years have been the greatest years of my life. I really am lucky to be with someone that I enjoy being with. I really look forward to sharing the rest of our lives together.

She's going to be mad when she sees this thread because of my avatar. She hates hates hates this picture and this hairdo (which lasted for like one day) which is why I chose it as my avatar

To keep this thread from becoming boring or just another engagement story I am going to post an outlandish "DOOKISH" picture of myself "nursing" from my sisters cat taken the next day

We're not having bridesmaides or groomsman. We are going to have a pretty untraditional wedding that is more "us" then the standard fare. It will be held outside at my Uncles house on White Bear Lake around dusk.

Over time it became apparant that we are perfect for each other and totally comfortable and happy together. We are great friends which in my mind is the biggest thing. You really have to like someone if you are going to spend the rest of your life together.

Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect, it means you've decided to look beyond the imperfections... unknown

And be easy on her. Yeah your right because it wasn't easy to find someone who could put up with me so I better not do anything to ruin it.
