from myself. I am doing good. I got home on thursday the 26th. What the problem I had was that my colon was all messed up. THe Dr. said that he was going to do his bes to take as little out of my colon as possible so that I didn't have to end up with a ostomy or ileostomy(those pouches U occasionally hear people joke about). The Dr. said that if things were bad enought though, there wouldn't be much of an option. Sooooo....needless to say I was QUITE nervous.

Well...my colon was completely screwed and they did have to take the practically the whole thing out...but there was enough left so that I didn't need the pouch thingy. I used to think I knew what the word relief was...I didn't really find out 'till the afternoon of the 18th(the day the surgery took place)

I want to say thank U ALL for ALL of the well wishes...apparently they paid off!

omfg To have to live with a pouch of the kind you talk about is one of my worst nightmares! I'm so glad you didn't have to do that!

What does it mean that your colon was "messed up" by the way? Was it cancer? Or something else?

Aren't they called calostomy bags or something like that? One of my ex's has a friend with one of those. Poor girl had so many problems but she always made light of it. When she'd meet a guy she'd ask him if he was "bag friendly" lol Good thing she has a sense of humor. But even if you did have to get one it wouldn't have been the end of the world and they are reversable once things inside get better.

Glad you're ok. Get some rest and take it easy!
