I got a kitty eating in Denmark, but couldn't think of a fruit beginning with the letter "y"

I don't believe 98% is accurate...where's the proof or stats that most people get these answers?

I actually think that 98% figure is wrong in this case. I've seen this trick before which a slight variation. You're supposed to pick an animal whose name starts with the next letter in the alphabet after your country. In that case, nearly everyone does indeed pick an elephant in Denmark.

I think the issue is with the animal and fruit moreso than with Denmark. Practically nobody picks Djibouti, the Dominican Republic or Dominica.

The original trick starts the same way. Choose a number between 1 and 10 and multiply by 9. Adding the digits will always give 9, so subtracting 5 always gives 4. This forces the letter D for the country, and nearly everyone chooses Denmark. The original trick then says, choose the next letter in the alphabet and think of an animal whose name starts with that letter. You're supposed to wait about 10 seconds and say, "There aren't any elephants in Denmark!"
