All about being pregnant and giving birth

Big belly, huge leaky boobs, stretch marks, sore back, bladder weakness, disgusting food cravings, vomiting and nausea, compulsive shopping for baby stuff, rushing to get the nursery ready in time, booking an ob/gyn, going to classes and learning all about forceps/ventouse/caesarians/natural deliveries, epidurals, spinal blocks, gas and air, TENS (don't bother with that, it does not work!), 24 hour labour! episiotomies vs tearing naturally, perineal massage, transition period etc.

Now anyway, feel free to discuss anything you like right here safe in the knowledge that certain someone will not be bothering us here! woot!

It's a free software that lets you talk to anyone anywhere for as long as you like absolutely free of charge as long as they have Skype too. I've gotten slightly addicted to it lately and spent the whole night yesterday chatting with a friend in Canada about everything and nothing until I wasn't making any sense anymore (this happened around 5 a.m.) smile

Isn't it great! And I like opening the door for men too, I do it all the time! I also open the door for pregnant ladies or those struggling with prams! Even if I was pregnant myself!

Do you have a headset? then you can lie on the sofa without having to hold the phone next to your ear and get a sore ear.

No headset, no phone. Microphone and headphones. nod You wouldn't believe how sore my mike arm became. I could barely reach for the toilet paper when I'd managed to transport my aching bones into the bathroom afterwards. But that's another story, eerily similar to some things you mentioned in your initial post. smile

time to get a headset with a long lead, then no need for separate mic and headphones, it's a special one for the computer with 2 jacks, one for mic input and one for phones output. They're only $15 or something.

It sounds like you're hooked up already? Do you have something similar to Skype?

Hey, me too, I was just drawn to Skype out of financial necessity. I would be ruined ten times over by now if I hadn't had it. Or I wouldn't have been able to talk to my "international friends".

It must be hard having your friends so far away. I never call anyone anyway!

I cheated first 2 times. But the last birth was only 2 hours start to finish so I would be willing to do it again.

But you do a hell of a lot of typing on here. Does that really fulfill your needs for social interaction? I'd go crazy if I didn't get to hear somebody's voice every once in a while.

Or maybe it's just that everybody else calls you?

biggrin you can still type if it is noisy where you are.
If someone calls me I always have to say now's a bad time I'll call you later, but a better time usually doesn't come. For some reason the kids always start screaming if I get on the phone.

And yes, to a degree it really does fulfill my need for interaction with other adults. I am never alone, the kids are always here and I am constantly cuddling them.
