Are you afraid/nervous of something strange?

boxed

For me it's escalators. I've always been quite nervous of getting on them. It's the thought of stepping on the gap and falling over. When I was younger, I used to thing I'd get my shoes caught at the bottom or the top of them and get gobbled up. Recently, I nearly missed my footing on one in HMV and nearly fell over! My heart was in my mouth! Luckily nobody saw though.

I used to know a girl at school who was afraid of the sight of fish. A girl I work with is scared of bananas?

What about you?!

Don't know if it's that weird, but the traffic scares the hell out of me. I still haven't got my licence, and the thought of having to study biochemistry is less scaring than this thing.

Everyone says 'rolleyes, just get it' but they just don't know how scared I am.

I also get sweaty whenever I have to cross the street.

The bike is ok, but also here I'm scared.

i don't like noises when I can't tell where its coming from. Like if I'm sitting here and there's a bang or click coming from another room...that freaks me out.

Ï HATE it when people try to hug me, massage my neck or even touch me in any way. I don`t know if i would say i`m afraid of it, but i get the same kind of feelings.

Yup. Also, Natisse, there's a storefront here in New Haven with giant wooden tree frogs painted in fluorescent colors that they shine a black light on overnight when they close and the frogs glow in the dark. It's creepy to me and I don't have that phobia, so your friend would prolly just die.

Two years ago, i had a teacher who used to suddenly massage my neck in class, and once started caress my neck. That was creepy, and i felt very uncomfortable shake
I don`t like it when friends or relatives hug me either.

See, but that's not an unreasonable thing to get nervous about... It's fuckin illegal.

i'm afraid of large groups of strangers in enclosed spaces, most likely because i was trampled by a mob of rabid christians when i was a small child and to this day, i don't trust large groups of people in situations where they're trying to get from one place to another. i work a couple of hours earlier than 9 to 5 so i can beat having to ride to and from work in a packed subway car - the idea horrifies me.

Well that sucks pat I never knew that.

My irrational (?) fear is of things exploding in my face - whether they be elastic bands, fizzy drink caps, or something far more powerful etc.

And yes, to spare anyone the trouble - I DO realise how ironic this is considering I'm a gay man! lol

I was scared of a segment of Kate Bush's singing during a performance of 'Running Up That Hill' on Top of The Pops when I was little. I remember I had to leave the room! shake
