i dont take compliments well

i don't like flattery. i like specific compliments because it says more about what the person likes than it does about them just trying to boost my ego...if that makes sense. i always like feedback, and i like knowing when i'm doing something right. by the same token, i like knowing when i'm doing something wrong, too...so, well, there's that.

Of course, there's always that smarmy attitude that can come along with a compliment that you know is not sincere. And those have the obvious opposite affect on me.
