I'll regret starting a thread about this but still...

Those who have some energy left...

Wish me luck tomorrow. That day might be a turning-point. I don't know in which direction, but I need to give it a try..

Can't wish you good luck unless I know what it is I am wishing on.

Here's the story...

Most of you know I've been working in a school since September, replacing another teacher. I love to teach, but I don't like the atmosphere in this school. Colleagues are talking behind each other's back... and even worse, the woman I'm replacing is taking advantage of me. For example, she will return part-time on Wednesday eek on the first day of the exams, so she doensn't have to teach. I can still do the oral exams in the 11th grade, but she will correct the exams of the other students, which I set up. Basically it means I will do most of her workn working 70 hours a week, and only getting paid 700 euros at the end of the month, instead of the 1500 I deserve.

The headmaster presumes I will continue to teach 8 hours a week for the rest of the schoolyear. Still, no one is ever clear about my future, what my perspectives are. He's just very unfriendly, never said one nice word. As the schedule is made for a full-time job, this 8 hours would mean teaching 1 or 2 hours a day, and not being able to find a job somewhere else.

So I was hoping to find another job for the rest of the schoolyear. To earn enough money, of course, but also to get away from these frustrating/frustrated people. I'll miss the students, I love to teach, but the school is way too narrow-minded...

Today I suddenly received a phone-call from a school looking for a full-time teacher till the end of the schoolyear. It's an opportunity I won't get too often, as so many young people are looking for a job as a teacher.

The lady I spoke too really wanted me to come tomorrow to have a talk...

So that's what's happening tomorrow.

cool That's great news! Good luck! Try to convince some high-ranked person other than the headmaster to write your letter of recommendation. Make sure you don't leave your current job without one! Those things come in mighty handy, if not now at least later on.
