THIS IS A NIGHTMARE!!!!

Because the US Embassy is SO SLOW in processing my application for my Visa for our return back 2 the USA(all due 2 9/11). I have just heard that we have lost the sale of the place we live in!!

We havent got a clue now what 2 do!!!!!

When we emigrated over 2 the USA in 1993 it only took us 4 months 2 b processed, now its taken 6 months and counting!! I have just called the US Embassy up again 2day and they said that we should b hearing in about 2 weeks or so when we will b called 2 go up for the induction interview!!!!

Also cos we keep estimating when we will b leaving we keep calling up Sky and NTL to ask if they could disconnect our services due 2 us moving and every time our estimation dates keep passing and then we get disconnected so we have 2 keep calling these people up and ask for reconnections!!!!

This is a total nightmare now!!!!! sad sad sad sad

Are you waiting on your immigrant visa to be processed? What classification do you have? Or is it a nonimmigrant visa?

What classification? Or you entering under an immediate family slot or a second or third preference family slot? Or is it a work visa?

I551 applications can take a long time depending on which classification you are or how many slots are opened for that visa class.

The thing is we are not the only family who are getting out of this country and making a mass exodus out!! Everyone wants 2 get the fuck out of this fuckhole!!! U should see the queues outside the US Embassy!! Every time we go there theres lines and lines of people waiting for visas application appointments!!!!! But funny, its only the US Embassy thats always so busy, isnt it??!!! All other Embassies in London dont have the same human traffic like the US Embassy does!!! The thing is, a lot of the US Military bases here are closing down so all those people have 2 b processed, particularly those with British spouses and its the Military that take first precedent, then its the civilian families with US spouses, then the rest and it works on a lottery system!!! biggrin biggrin biggrin

Also, when you show up at the port of entry, be patient. Processing immigrant packages can be a long process as well. Be prepared to be interviewed again, have your fingerprints taken, and wait until everything is processed.

If your husband is a US Citizen, then you are coming in as an IR1 - spouse of a US Citizen. This process does take a long time. It is much easier for someone to obtain a K visa (fiancee) and enter the US. Once in the US, a person has 90 days to marry. Then, the person can stay in the US while the process is being completed.

i don't understand, if your husband is a US citizen, shouldn't this be an easy process? what about him moving over first, getting established (find housing and a job), and the rest of you following later? shouldn't be a big problem, especially if you find a good immigration attorney over here. shrug

why i bother, i don't know... maybe i'm just bored! lol

Have you tried to get a K3 nonimmigrant visa? You can enter the US and wait while the process is finished. Your children, if you have any, enter on a K4 visa. The visa must be issued in the country where you were married.

But our son is a US Citizen by birth cos my husband is American, even though he was born here, so he doesnt need a K3!! He is a US Passport holder and he has a Consular Certificate of Birth Abroad birth certificate!!!

Then you should get the K3 visa and enter the US. You can wait for the process to finish in the US. Otherwise, you just have to stick it out.
