my fave medium!

i just love acrylics...i've never worked with oils... i just like how malluable the colours are and how easy it is to mix...

my only problem is how fast they dry (the liquid ones anyway)

i'm really comfortable working with acrylics
and canvas love i wish i could have a FREE endless supply 2 any size canvas...they're great 2 work with too

Acrylic is my favorite medium too.

HOwever, oils are far better at evoking color moods. THey're much more vibrant and thei warm tones like red and orange can totally pop. It's not unusual for me to go over an acrylic with a little touch of oil here or there. I have no clue if this is good or advisable, but it works for me. shrug
i'll hafta experiment eventually, and with all the assignments i'm getting i'm sure i'll be able 2 do so nod

i just don't like how long it takes for oils to dry...when handling canvases i'm pretty rough, and that might be a problem LOL

There are sprays to help it dry faster.
It's a very messy medium. But some artists swear by it.

I would really like to find the time to get back into art. It used to be my passion.

eek wow...
how do u make finding different values so easy?
like the grayscale is soooo flawless!!

(maybe i should get them done professionally? do i just go to like Sears or Walmart to their photo place? or are there actual places that do that stuff?)

It's a large pen & ink pointillism drawing...so I control each and every dot you see in the image. Makes those gradients easier to achieve, but it's so damn tedious...lol...

And yeah, they have professional photographers who specialize in photographing your art...but you should attempt to do it yourself first. nod
