An eel cannot dress up like a squirrel!

Well it just can't. And if it could, I'd like to see it try.

if you've never seen an eel dress up like a squirrel, then you are a very lucky and innocent young man indeed.

Couple driven nuts by car problem
BBC News - 2005/11/07 22:15:08 GMT

A hoard of peanuts, hidden by squirrels, has been discovered under the bonnet of a car by mechanics who were investigating mechanical problems.

David and Elaine Marks, from Clydebank, took their car to a local garage after it began making strange noises and losing power when going up hills.

After an extensive service, costing £78, 8lbs of nuts were eventually recovered from the air filter. It emerged that the squirrels had been storing nuts in preparation for winter.

Mr Marks said initial tests by the mechanics failed to identify the problem. He said: "They came through a quarter of an hour later with these 8lbs of nuts.

Clogged filter

"They said 'there's your problem. Those were in your resonator and in your air filter'."

"The squirrels apparently had been going through the air pipe entrance, through the resonator box, and into the air filter."

David Newport, Honda service manager, said: "Our technician Scott, who was working on it, came through and said 'you've got to see this to believe it'.

"With the restrictions that were on the car it was just unbelievable that the car was still running."

Mrs Marks said she had removed the root of the problem by taking down her bird feeder from the garden.

Squirrels attack stray dog, tear it to pieces A pack of furious squirrels attacked a stray dog and tore it to shreds in Russia's Far East. The incident occurred in the center of the settlement of Lazo in the Dalnerechensky District.

Three locals walking in a park were witnesses of the incident. They say the stray dog was barking at black squirrels jumping from one tree to another. Then the squirrels grouped and suddenly attacked the mongrel.

The witnesses said the squirrels fiercely eviscerated the dog. When the people rushed to rescue the dog it was too late. The fight between the dog and the squirrels lasted for not longer than a minute. When the triumphant squirrels saw the humans approaching, they scattered carrying pieces of the prey in their mouths. eek

I kid you not

From Pravda, Dec. 2, 2005

http://english.pravda.ru/...rrels.html

more of that story...

The incident made locals incredibly cautious and people now prefer to pass the park by and do not let children play there. People fear that savage squirrels may attack someone again. One of the locals says that if another accident occured there it would make sense to fix traps in the forest to catch squirrels.

Squirrels have little cones to eat this year. Usually, squirrels lived in the woods only but this year they have come to live right in the center of the settlement.

Mikhail Tiunov from the Far East Department of the Russian Academy of Sciences says he has never heard about squirrel attacking other animals before. "This sounds nonsensical that squirrels attacked a stray dog and tore it to pieces. If this actually happened, the life of squirrels in the forest seems to be really hard this year. It is typical of squirrels to feed on nuts, seeds and mushrooms. And it is unlikely that squirrels have become so aggressive as a result of some mutation," Newsru quoted the expert as saying.

Um, no. We have them here at the Palo Alto Court. We have them eat out of our palms.....but you're right Joaquina, the brown squirrel is kinda shy. The black squirrel will go up and wait for you to give him something.

I had yet to see them in CA (I have yet to see that many squirrels here period) but in Chicago they'd sit on top of the fence and not budge as you went past. I always thought they were going to jump at me.
