Random money

Alright, just checked my bank account this morning to see what the sorry state of it was and found a mystery deposit of 40 GBP. I have no idea where this has come from, don't recognise the details (just says CARFAX OXFORD), and I'm wondering whether I can actually touch this money or not. What do you think? hmmm

I say spend it! If the bank comes after you, just tell them someone on a Prince website said it was cool. nod

But seriously, if I withdraw the money is it likely that someone will realise the error and try to get the money back, leaving me over my limit?

hmmm

The money would be very handy today.

Wait, what about the moral issues here? hmmm

It's tantamount to stealing right? What do you think about that? It appears to be a company as opposed to an individual, if that makes any difference.

It's only 40 GBP, but here in Thailand that's 2800 baht ($70). I'm just thinking what that'd buy you here...

Taxi to central plaza = 60 baht
Lunch at Black Canyon = 200 baht
2 pairs of jeans and a pair of shoes for the wife = 800 baht
2 new t-shirts for me = 400 baht
Sticker photo = 70 baht
Dinner at Zen Japanese restaurant = 500 baht
Movie = 300 baht
Bottle of wine to take home = 400 baht
Taxi home = 70 baht

Total = 2800 baht eek

Or I could pay most of my power bill from last month. neutral

omg hmm

Shame I'll be using it to pay the house power bill eh. shrug

Really makes me wonder where all the money goes considering you can get all that for under 3000 baht. I think my bills must far outweigh my living costs. It's ridiculous really. For the price of my cable I could eat dinner out with the wife 4 times. disbelief My damn fridge cost me less than what I have to pay for bills each month, not including rent.

I've decided not to touch it over the weekend and if it's still there on Monday I'll take it out. Should I go over my limit I should be ok as my account is held in the UK at a local branch and my folks both used to work for the company and can usually get the overdrawn fees waived. woot!

The only course of action is to have the bank trace it for you.
Have you tried to Google 'Carfax'
No More Haters on the Internet.
