On A Serious Note: Ever had to deal with accidental death by vehicle

I was in my car yesterday (during the day) and rode by a car accident. One car had a tarp covering the vehicle. I assume it was because of a death. Their was a woman bawling and my mind started racing.

Have you ever been in a car accident where YOU killed the other driver, or the passenger, or children or whoever. Not because you were drinking, or speeding or at night being sleepy. It's just the middle of the day and you were just not paying attention, changing a radio station, picking up something from the floor, yelling or singing with a fellow passenger. Just doing something stupid and you hit another car. You don't assume the worst, but when the worst happens, how do you cope?

I can't imagine what goes through your mind when you try to go to sleep that night, knowing what happened earlier in the day.

Has anyone gone through this horrible experience?

I've had my share of accidents.....none were serious though. I think I would have a hard time dealing with being in an accident that killed someone else....especially if it was my fault.
