oh man i got a zombie obsession ever since i saw a midnight showing of dawn of the dead when i was about 10 years old. that movie HORRIFIED me! Of course it seems more humorous and goofy now, but back then i took that movie dead serious.
If i knew Rip was such a horror guy I would cornered him at the Independent this MPLS invasion and woulda been an uncontrollable chatter box!

so are you a more Romero kinda guy or a Lucio Fulci? Is it just me, or is Dario Argento overrated? ha!

On a side note: course there is no comparisons, but I thought Savini's remake wasn't half-bad.

His films are pretty, but damn boring! Did you ever see Trauma? One of Argento's few American films. It sucked something fierce, but Piper Laurie and Brad Dourif were in it, and it was filmed in Minneapolis!

Heresy! LOL Suspiria and Demons are freaking fantastic. I enoyed the remake of NOTLD too, but aesthetically, I like the black and white original more.

The ending of NOTLD always makes me sad.

i remember not too long ago here in MPLS they did a midnight showing of 2,000 maniacs at the Uptown theatre. What a hooot! Bloodfeast traumatized me as a young lad. Not sure, it could have been the acting though, or the musical score by Lewis himself! Why did my dad indulge me and rent those films for me?!

how about Montag the Magnificent from Wizard of Gore?
that movie cracks me up! I can't get over the punch-press bit!

I've got a book called Taste of Blood, covering all the films of H.G. Lewis. A real "value" of the book is that it has pictures of all the posters done up for these films. All other things aside, They are pretty damn genius. Advertising at it's best and WORST! Lewis' later profession and specialty.
