Sorry, but The Netherlands is one of the most active places in Europe when it comes to human trafficking. These girls are often promised something completely else than a career in sex industry, but once they get inside the foreign country they are pretty much forced to become strippers. There are all kinds of manners the girls can be manipulated into it, holding back their passports etc. Sure, there are strippers who do it voluntarily, and who even enjoy it. I've known a couple of ones personally and as you said nobody's holding a gun against their heads, but it doesn't change the fact that majority of these women do it for completely different reasons than their own enjoyment or as a career choice. | |
