Who's doing NaNoWriMo this year?

National Novel Writing Month is in November....will you attempt to write 50,000 words in 30 days?

do it! do it! do it! we'll cheer each other on!

if you do it, you should get your story idea and characters together before november 1 - have a rough outline ready with some idea of who your characters are, and that makes the actual novel writing much easier.

i think that would motivate me and a lot of people to actually reach the goal of 50,000 words! it's one thing to push yourself, but another to know there are some stakes involved, especially when it can help other people.

my story idea for this year's NaNoWriMo was one i was going to write last year but didn't get started. sometimes it comes out even better when you're trying it again - it's had a long time to stew in your imagination.

J'écrirai en français aussi ! J'écrirai un roman français entier par dessus la ligne machine de traduction ! Mon histoire est au sujet de rien, mais toutes les anglais l'avaleront aiment la sucrerie parce que le Français les rend CHAUDES !

no! it can be written on the back of a receipt! it's not complicated at all!

it's just a map of where you want your story to go.

PFFT people who hit you around the ears with that bollocks are no writers, obviously.

I discus my plotlines ALL of the time with trusted ones (pfft). They often give me good feedback. My most fave writers acknowledge the input of their editors and proofreaders.

MY plotline. I am going to use an old one too.

Guy in a concentration camp gets liberated by American troops. One of the troops visits him later on and they fall in love.
Their relationship falls slowly apart because of the first guys' traumatic past and their incapability to share their deepest fears.

Too heavy?

nothing's too heavy.

and i don't mind being considered a non-writer, as long as nobody's ripping off my non-plot ideas from internet discussion forums. lol

Hehehe. I don't mind. I have proof I printed it HERE first.

Anyways. Who would write a story about two 1946-ish men falling in love at the wrong time?

Well, they can, but not give it the spin I gave it. First draw (?) was a bit too heavy on the gay aspect of it, but once I grew up and made that a non-issue, the plotline cleared out and gave way to a story.

My spotline : a woman discovers that she has 6 unknown children after a DNA laboratory had stolen her eggs while a minor surgery when she was 13. She finds out traffic cannibalists while people are getting under more and more drugs, until revolution happens. Then people build a new order, under a Kingdom with independant Love Ministery.

No way I could get 50,000 out of the way but I have had a mini novel in my head for a while now...semi based on Prince's the War. Sort of like 1984 meets The War meets Logans run or something.

Basically it's sort of a diary about a guy who has lived through a War and everyone has to go underground after. It's his 3rd attempt at writing such documentation as it is against the law to document what really happened for the sake of the future generations who will be born into this society without any knowlege of a previous one. I envision it written in 1st person..like a diary..though I have never written in 1st person before.

you'd be surprised. nod

the year i did 35,000 words, the words flowed pretty quickly - i probably would have hit 50,000 if i'd had a laptop that year and could have written at my mom's house and at the airport over thanksgiving...which is what i plan on doing this year. geek
