yeah, that's what really gets me. If you watch it you'll see they poke fun at alot of social subjects. Quite smart and funny at times.

Yer SO right, hunny. I love the way they reach an entire group of people in such a subtle, but still in your face-way.

Probably one of TV's better shows. In the beginning it was a little more easier to get into because a lot of the humor was a bit more broad. As time went by, plots became a little more focused on current events and poking fun at different things going on. You would see an episode that harkened on a News item that happened just that past week. That's how poignent the show got.

They creators also have a humor all their own. By now there is an entire South Park universe with it's own rules it lives by...similar to Seinfeld and Simpsons. You either get into the humor or you don't. It's also very character heavy...with inside and running jokes. Not only have they developed other regular characters, but also many side ones that carry their own humor as well.

The episodes have gotten almost way out there...even for the regular fan. However I am always still shocked and they may not have entire funny episodes ( sometimes) there is still plenty to smile about when you watch. Again much of the humor is baked in for the regular fans...you have to keep watching to catch the jokes and understand.

And NO the appeal is no longer the "language" they have SO moved beyond that. But it does take a somewhat dedicated watching to get it. Like an episode where they make fun of J'Lo is funny only if you understand some of the characters and their motivations towards the other characters.

Exactly. There's a lot of surprisingly funny and subtle social satire. I have one pet peeve though: their annoying speeches at the end where they spell out the message they just spent an entire episode demonstrating. mad It doesn't matter that they do it in a "sarcastic" way with sappy strings in the background. They still do it and thereby ruin the overall impression. It's probably for the sake of the numbskulls that don't get it, which is silly since it'll be lost on them anyway.

Did you get the subtle point of that episode?

Pure genius!!

I also liked the one with the kids voting between a giant douchebag and a shit sandwich for their mascot. Was that with P. Diddy and his Vote or Die campaign?

Stan didn't want to vote if his only choices were between a douchebag and a sandwich made of crap. Which illustrates the choices we had in the last election. HAHAHAHAHA
