I don't get the people who take appliances and electronics. What the hell are you gonna plug them into? Chances are if you're still there, then you have no where to go. I mean who'd go down there in that chaos just to get a chance to take free stuff.

I see where you are going with this (the race thing) but there is incomplete info to make that judgement yet.

The couple at the bottom may have bought the bread and soda at the store or it may have been a place where supplies were being given out, thus the term found was used.

In the top picture, if the photographer (and reporter) actually saw the stoor being looted, how are they supposed to caption the picture.

You may be right, there just is not enough info yet to make that call (IMHO).

How do you know "what" these reporters seen??

This is just a classic example of how the "media" chooses to portray blacks and white in vastly different tones!....PERIOD!

I do not know what these reporters saw or did not see...that is why I said "if" in that sentence.

And you are exactly proving my point. We do not know what these reportes saw. We do not have enough information to know exactly what the situations were to actually say race played a part or not.

You also have to look at these stories came from two different news agencies. What if one news agencies captioned all of their pictures as "looters" regardless of race and the other captioned all their pictures as "found" regardless of race?

And do we even know the races of the persons who captioned these two pictures. What if the picture captioned as 'looters" was captioned by a black person and the other one that uses "found food" was captioned by a white person.

I am not saying race did or did not play a role, I am just saying there needs to be more information to make an accurate call.

This could also be taken from the perspective of "classism".

Rich people freebase.
Poor people smoke crack.

Yes there's a difference in the actual mechanics of getting from point A to point B, but bottomline, you end up smoking cocaine!

confuse Or is that, "...snortin' whiskey and drinkin' cocaine." cool
