I've decided to stop w/ the whining about my weight... ...and DO something about it! Fussing never cures flab. If I eat more fruit and vegtables, no chips, drink lots of water and exercise daily can I expect a flatter stomach in a matter of weeks? If it doesn't fit, it's ugly anyway.

Weeks, no. maybe years. maybe an eternity. Maybe an infinite amount of time, maybe the space time vortex will implode and your stomach will flatten in 2065.

Well I cut all that out, and dramatically lost weight around my stomach, and my body reacted to the workouts better and I have still kept off all the weight, with drinking water and some juice at times well it worked for me anyways

In fact, soda consumption (particularly if you drink more than one a day), goes a long toward hindering weight loss. The surprise? The same can be said for most fruit drinks -- we're better off eating fruit (for fiber) and drinking a LOT of water. You think I'd have a flat stomach, what with all this knowledge...

Still all that sugar though, they say that its ok, and blah blah blah, but all the additives from the fake sugars they put in there tie up your digestive tract

Avoid processed food, eat fresh fruit and vegtables and lean meat, grill food rather than fry it. drink plenty of water. Cut off sugary things, exercise regularly and you'll be fine.

Whether you believe it's harmless or not, fact remains that diet soda does not harm weight loss. See, it's cute and all when people completely cut out all the "unhealthy" foods, but you have to take it one step at a time. You can't change your lifestyle/diet overnight. It takes time. That's why many find "dieting" hard. They go from one extreme to the other.

you will probably lose a lot of weight the first few weeks
after that it will go a lot slower. but consistently. the trick with diets is that you shouldn't just go on one, sweat it out for a few weeks and once you've lost the kgs start eating like you used to again. the only way to lose the weight forever is to make some real changes in the way you eat. so more vegetables, fruits and wholewheat/dark bread stead of the white sugary bread should help you along nicely. a bit of excercise is always good. but pick something you feel comfortable with and don't set your goals high at all at first. you don't want to get discouraged by hard and timeconsuming regimes. whatever excercise you do that you weren't doing before is an added plus to your change in eating. the more weight you lose and the more your body starts to heal and stock up on the good nutrients your eating with your new diet, the more energy you will have and the more you will want to start doing excercise. that's the best time to take it up a notch. or just keep it as it is if you're happy with your weight by then! anywho. good luck!!!! and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

and also, if you feel like eating some
snacks, just take some time out and do a stroll through your supermarket and a few health stores and such to search for good snacks which are low in fat n calories. these shouldn't be the very expensive type of nutrition bars or other such crap they trick you into buying if you want to eat more healthy or less fat. just average products, like chips made out of rice. or muesli bars that have a low calorie count. there are also a lot of things like pre-packed veggies (small carrots etc) that are nice to snack on during the day. personally, I just like the very dark crackers and bread with water and sum fruit. but than again, that might not be to everyone's taste. just take some time out to find a few products that taste good but don't contain too many calories. it's very usefull to start reading labels and be a bit more aware of what it is that you are eating and how much protein, fat and sugar it contains. still, everything is cool when you eat it in moderation. so don't cut anything out completely because that is very unhealthy. no matter what any of the new and hip diets say, it is never healthy to just cut out one of the foodgroups completely. another tip (i'll stop in a minute) is to be very carefull with so called "light" products! "light" doesn't mean it contains a lot less fat or calories. in many cases the difference between the regular and the "light" product from one and the same manufacturer is less than 10%!!! so that's still hardly "light" at all. once again, just check the labels and compare stuff. you'll get very good at knowing what's what in no time and be more aware of what you're eating. I'll stop ranting now. I'm just a bit of a food-psycho I guess and true love lives on lollipops and crisps
