I thought he was good in other roles (Closer and Cold Mountain), but that was his best role/film.I watch Closer to laugh my azz off!  Mike Nichols directs pretty robots in sterile environments having random affairs!

"Cold Mountain" and "Closer", I don't think the actual parts he played were of any distinction (IMO).
