ROCK STAR: INXS

I thought I'd check-in for a few minutes, but found it surprisingly entertaining.

I know this chick:

She used to front a band called Joydrop (they had a major label deal, put out a couple of albums and made a video with a cameo from Tommy Lee, then got dropped).

Anybody else watching?

They've already toured with another singer (a fact that was conveniently omitted from the band's bio on the show).

Not talking about TTD. I recall them coming through Toronto a few years ago with a previously unknown (to me, anyway) singer. Who's Jon Stevens?

She sang "Middle of the Road" (Pretenders) and they probably showed less of her song than any of the other contestants. Navarro and the band both agreed she had a very strong voice.

So far, they are not performing INXS songs (I have a feeling they're saving that for the end).

If that's the case, I might have to watch that one.

By "the end", I mean later on in the series (not necessarily the last show). They've already shown the band jamming with Navarro on an INXS tune (without vocals).

nod They did do a some dates with TTD/Sanada. As a matter of fact, at one point, he was suppose to replace Micheal but the guys in the band didn't want to pay TTD/Sananda what he demanded.
On a side note, I caught the live show TTD/Sanada did w/INXS did in Australia. It was televised World Wide. The show was so good that it was orgasmic. Not to many knew this but TTD and Micheal were goods freinds so he really sang the songs with heart and soul
.

If you're wondering why this thread is back in GD, I have requested it (as it is a TV show and there is already a thread about it in "Music: Non-Prince").

No chin-scratching necessary. As it is a TV show about music (and we certainly discuss TV shows all the time in GD), it can be discussed in both forums.

hmmm I never heard that TTD was suppossed to replace him on a permanent basis, or that it had anything to do with a disagreement about money. TTD said on his website that he just did the shows with them as a tribute to Michael, and that he wouldn't want to be a permanent replacement for him, as no one could fill his shoes.

The question here is: With INXS currently at the top of the rock 'n' roll world, who could possibly follow them in this series?

May I suggest ROCK STAR: Right Said Fred?

Just had to share this (from another board):

Looks like Mark Burnett, the master of the cheesy reality show dismissal catchphrase, came up empty here. What about:

"What you need...is to leave."

"You've been KICKed out."
