Hey Dex, what is your favorite Slum Village album and song and don't you wish Baatin was still in the group?

Hey, Dex.
I saw this movie recently called "Crash" and it really made me think about the racial intolerance in Los Angeles. It's not really like that here in New York, but it seems like on the west coast there's still work that needs to be done. So my question is, do you think that racial intolerance and prejudice is prevalent in Los Angeles, as a resident? NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

It's not really like that here in New York, but it seems like on the west coast there's still work that needs to be done. So my question is, do you think that racial intolerance and prejudice is prevalent in Los Angeles, as a resident? Crash is my favorite movie of this year!!! I have made recommendations across the board regarding this excellent movie about "karma", "metaphysics", and racial stereotypes! As a Social Studies teacher I find it a must see and will incorporate a viewing of it into my future lesson plans. Now...onto your question. The racial intolerance here, as in any place, is due to a strong presence of ignorance amongst the masses and the powers that be. There are a plethora of reasons behind this. There is a strong divide between the Police and the communities out here, not to mention a sever lack of trust of the L.A.P.D. for obvious reasons. We also have a real Gang presence in L.A. with the Blacks and Mexicans creating bullshit rivalries which just perpetuate the stereotypes as well. Then we also have a vast amount of nationalities in Los Angeles, and with such a big melting pot, comes even more stereotypes. We have "Little Armenia", "Korea Town", "China Town", "West Hollywood" and the Black Neighborhoods, all intertwined with upscale neighborhoods throughout L.A. So yes, the racial and stereotypical intolerance is prevalent in L.A, but here and anywhere else, it is just about knowledge and education about the people around you. We live in a society where we no longer wish to even have a conversation with our neighbors outside of the Hello's in the mornings and evenings. That must end! There is alot to learn from the minds other than your own. Gone are the days where the entire neighborhood knew each other. Gone are the days where eyes were upon you every step you made as a child. We need a stronger sense of community and that strong neighborhood feel again! The man who does not read good books has no advantage over the man who cannot read them. -- Mark Twain.

Most definately, and this is due to the flies and bugs all having a turn at it overnight depositing their saliva and residue all over it. The man who does not read good books has no advantage over the man who cannot read them. -- Mark Twain.

Well being a tall brotha, I am not intimidated by your presence, but what you must understand is that "we" are slightly above average in size and "most" people are simply in awe of our presence. Being a woman of such stature can be a mild hinderance in how you are approached, but all you have to continue to do is just be the outwardly extroverted person full of personality and vigor so those that have these preconcieved notions in there head can be exonerated! I have height, size and black skin...but as soon as I let my personality shine, all the apprehensions simply go away! Wow...I really can't answer that question as I am a strong movie buff and like ALOT of movies! WHAP WHAP Movies that make me stop flicking the channel are: Ferris Beuller's Day Off (Big favorite...reminded me of my college days..I had them all snowed as well!) Star Wars Jaws and these are just the mainstream choices.... GodFather American Werewolf in London The First Power Less than Zero Heat It goes on and on baby!
