MOSQUITOES!!! They're so cute in the larval stage!
And unlike Penguins and Flamingos, these predate the cretatious-tertiary boundary. [Edited 7/12/05 19:37pm]

Literally it means 'lakecat'

what does it mean? "meer" means "eats" or "eater" while "kat" means either "young" or "offspring". So, this animal is fittingly called the "meerkat" ("eater of the young") because it eats its own young in the wild... . [Edited 7/12/05 19:50pm]

Hate those little fuckers. They are the reason I always try to save any spiders that I find in my house. Anything that helps control the mosquito population is cool with me. Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)
