Many networks are off Spooky, don't expect the worst on this. I waited to use a land line to be sure.

np dear, I remember Sept. 11th and how that was here. People do come here for news, to find friends and be comforted. Like you said, since the phones are down this is probably the easiest way.
So many swedish people live and work in London sad sigh

I pray for our friends, the victims of these attacks and their families.

I can't get hold of one of my friends who works in the Aldgate area.

Yes, keep trying. Use a landline where you can though. Just have to be patient - which isn't easy I know.

"In the wind we hear their laughter
In the rain we see their tears
Hear their heartbeat
We hear their heartbeat

Night hangs like a prisoner
Stretched over black and blue
Hear their heartbeat
We hear their heartbeat"
Let the rain come down...17 days....

News report just came in - reports of eye witness accounts of one passenger being blown out of a tube train from the force of the blast into the path of an oncoming tube train.

sounds a little doubtful due to how the underground is constructed, although their are indeed parts of it where such a sad thing would be possible.

I hope and pray that is not confirmed.

I don't believe that - the damage to the tube trains isn't significant enough for that to happen. And how they'd spot the oncoming tube train and all..nah - just doens't add up.

I cried as soon as I saw the news when I woke up, several hours ago now... And I've been near teary all morning, not able to concentrate on my work. And I'm not even there... I can't imagine how emotional it must be for those and those with loved ones in and around the area.

A friend of mine who works at a bank just told me that his colleagues at Citigroup in London had told him that their security guards have shot and killed a man who was trying to run into the building with explosives strapped to his body!

I know it's a somebody-told-somebody-who-told-me-story and that it sounds a bit far-fetched, but who knows, it might be true. It's pretty crazy if it is.

Is this at Canary Wharf? I'm hearing stories about a thwarted suicide bomber there

disbelief that's just ridiculous. Most hired security guards in the CBD aren't armed, anyway.

I know, I know - but that's what they reported on the news. Let's hope it isn't true.

Although they have also just said that someone reported seeing three bodies on the tracks whilst leaving the train.

One eye witness just stated too:

'A lady came into our carriage and she was so badly wounded you couldn't even see her face'

A news conference is going to be given in the next few minutes on BBC1 etc by the emergency services.
