Sphincter in your throat????

Did you know there is a sphincter muscle in your throat?

Peppermint, alcohol, and chocolate are substances that can aggravate heartburn by relaxing the sphincter muscle of the esophagus. This muscle is responsible for sealing off the stomach from the esophagus. If the sphincter muscle relaxes, acid in the stomach can back up into the esophagus (stomach acid reflux).

Then there was the time I had to use a catheter. Worse than the zipper. Most. Pain. Ever.

It's not in the throat chair

It's the entrance to the stomach and it's called cardiac geek
